agonizing again

so...
*having to boss around 2 of my oldest friends is frustrating and stressful
*I can't seem to have an even-keeled visit with Mike
*Smith is asking me to pay $26,000 in tuition this year
*I have plans to drive across the country, go to Smith and declare a major
*I suddenly want to break all my plans and move to Portland or Minneapolis or Somewhere Else

I don't feel like some crucial parts of my life are my own...I know they're not. My parents pay for my college, they will pay for my housing and possibly my food, my laptop, books, some of my clothes...this is all really cool and such, but there's a catch; they can pull rank. "We bought you that laptop and it was very expensive and you can't just go lending it out to people!" I don't just "lend it to people," I lend it to Mike, who has enough integrity for 5 people.

I don't want to deal with the next 3 weeks...I don't want to deal with my family's agenda. I'm sick of being dependent and obligated to mold to the needs and schedules and choices of 4 people whose lives don't mesh at all with mine. Can I please leave??
