*cough*CLASSICSGEEK!*cough*

ladies and gentlemen, I have finished Homer's Iliad.

OK, that's not really that big a feat. But, people, it's the first epic poem I've actually read cover to cover. It's important to me.

I'm kind of miffed that all the juicy stuff happens in, like, books 6 and 24. Book 6 is the Hector/Andromache thing (where his baby son gets scared of him in his armor...) and 24 is all of the Priam ransoming Hector's body and Achilles sharing all his emotions with Priam and Hector's burial. Alright, it's an exaggeration that all the good stuff happens in those 2 books, but it does feel like there are a few books in there that are nothing but battles and catalogues of the fighters' names and irrelevant personal histories.

that's enough of that.

Sono stanche e sonno. Luned Anch'io triste, ma perché? Non sapero, e non capisco, ma oggi sono triste.

Oh yeah: I like Italian.

and Latin, and Ani DiFranco, and lots of people whom I miss but won't name. Not in that order.
